Research Forum

Adrian Holliday, Donald Freeman and Salah Troudi

Understanding, conducting and utilizing the results of different types of research is an important part of our work as teachers. In this one-day Research Forum, participants will listen to interactive lectures given by three renowned researchers in the field of TESOL/Applied Linguistics. Participants will also have the oppportunity to collaborate with the experts about their own research interests and design.

Adrian Holliday, from Canterbury Christ Church University College in the UK, will discuss qualitative research. Donald Freeman, a professor from the School for International Training in the US, will present his views on teacher research while Salah Troudi, from Exeter University, will discuss the role of action research as a tool for teacher development. Each will lead a small collaborative group discussing research ideas participants bring to the forum.

A light lunch and two coffee breaks will be provided.

Fees:
The cost to TESOL Arabia members is 345 AED. Advance registration is required.The Research Forum Development Course is limited to the first 50 paid registrants. You must be registered for Conference 2005 to qualify for participation in this development course.TESOL Arabia study or travel grants may be available for active members.
